Track By Tracks: Komodo - Battle Pass (2026)

1. Battle Pass:

The album's intro foreshadows Devotion's bridge section, setting the stage for the song with electronic sounds this time to match the video game vibe we were looking for.

2. Devotion:

This song is about death cults and how blind devotion leads people to do horrible things, hoping for eternal life. Musically, we show this dichotomy by contrasting a death-metal style breakdown with angelic Muse-inspired vocals.

3. Perception of Things:

This is a man's cry for help as he struggles to differentiate if what he sees and the voices he hears are reality, insanity, or the effect of the medication he's been forced to take. The song transitions from chaotic insanity to a mellow epic repeating chorus as the medication sedates him once again. PoT won Metal Single of the Year at the Rockzany Music Awards.

4. Rise of the Blind:

The song reflects our hopelessness for humanity in the era of AI-algorithmically driven social media doomscrolling. Musically, we mirror overstimulation through steep time signatures and harmonic shifts, and heavily layered production. Our most experimental song yet. We even included throat singing ffs.

5. Masochist:

We're all masochists in some way. We set up our own strings to hang ourselves with and then fight ourselves to find the courage to cut them. This is a high-energy, catchy song meant to inspire you whenever you need to find that courage once again.

6. The Lingering:

It's about someone who finds themselves turning into a monster (a zombie), and feeling how they lose themselves in the process. This song is the quintessential 'Komodo' sound: Rhythmically always complex and varied, but with catchy vocal and guitar hooks never absent.

7. Chronostasis:

A person is transported to a future where they find themselves not only dead but already forgotten. Are we arrogant enough to believe the world will not forget us as well? This is our mellowest song to date. Not quite a ballad, but you'll find some old-school meets new-school sounds in it.

8. The Enforcer:

If The Lingering is the 'current' Komodo sound, The Enforcer is the 'classic' Komodo sound at its best: Thrashy yet catchy. A Megadeth-meets-Ghost type of deal that people love moshing to when played live.

9. All You Get:

This song is pure anger directed at all who dare to demand anything from us: Parents, bosses, people in power. This is all you get. Deal with it. Our grooviest song to date, with elements straight from Grunge and Nu-Metal.

10. Beneath Your Race:

We find it best to close our shows with a fast thrashy song when people are heated up and ready to mosh. BYR is just that: Classic Master of Puppets era thrash where we tell our reptilian overlords to go eff themselves.
