Interviews About Albums: Dez Dare - These Days Are Wild & Blind (2026)

In this new interview, we sat down with the English Punk Rock artist Dez Dare to ask questions about their album, "These Days Are Wild & Blind".

1. What can you say about this new album?

"These Days Are Wild & Blind" is my 6th album, written and recorded in my studio in Brighton, UK. It has 12 songs, with one being released each month to streaming services. The whole album is available now, exclusive to Bandcamp. On these recordings, I have old friends and new ones helping out. Mike Gale of Black Nielson and Co-pilgrim sang, while Maria Marzaioli of YOU&TH and Slum of Legs sang and played violin. Colin Webster of Sex Swing and IDLES delivered some raucous saxophone.

2. What is the meaning of the album name?

It is in reference to the state of the world. So maybe crazy things are happening, and so many people are blinded by digital tunnel vision. These days truly are wild and blind.

3. Which one is the composer of the album?

It's all me 🤘 with the odd guest.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

'We're Not Broken Sunshine' is one of my faves. A little different from some of my other stuff and is about people not understanding neurodiversity.

5. Is there a special message in this album? If there is what it is?

Well, not special. Just another collection of observations about society, existentialism, and pet hates. My favorite things to think about.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

Nah, curious to see what people work out for themselves.

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

Thanks to all the players and God Unknown Records. Musically, it is a magpie's nest of ideas caught up in my head, now in digital form. Too many influences to list.
