Interviews About Albums: General Chaos - Can't Please 'Em All (2026)
In this new interview, we sat down with the Canadian Punk Rock band General Chaos to ask questions about their album, "Can´t Please 'Em All".
1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?
R: It’s way more politically engaged.
C: I think it's more mature, and it sounds way more defined. Like, we finally found our sound.
2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?
C: Well, we knew not everyone would like the name we picked for the album. So we made it clear.
3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?
C: I (Constantin) write the base of the song, which means lyrics, unless Aude writes them, and basic verse/chorus/bridge parts that I send to Aude for her to write the bass parts at home. Then, together we all put together the song and built its structure. Remi writes parts for drums.
4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?
C: Wilder Daze. It's way too much fun to play live!
R: I would pick " The Idiots Have Taken Over " because it has the most powerful chorus and verse in my opinion.
A: I have my favorites from the album, but I would say Trust, Anyone because the meaning of it is something I wanna speak about, and it’s featuring an artist I love.
5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?
C: Not really... but there is a hidden track on the CD if you rewind to the 1st tracks.
6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?
C: "I want a Cadillac!"
7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?
C: I wasn't listening to much punk while writing the album. I was into some classic/southern rock, believe it or not. CCR, Allman Brothers band, early Lynyrd Skynyrd. I was also into a lot of Hank Williams Sr, Johnny Cash, etc.
A: The Interrupters were a big inspiration for me at this time. Without mentioning all of Matt Freeman’s incredible bass lines.
8. Something to add?
R: Never compose because you have to, only compose because you want to.
C: Instead of buying it, make it! That's punk AF
