In this new interview, we sat down with the Melodic Hard Rock band Rising Alma to ask questions about their album, "Your Own Story".

1. What can you say about Your Own Story?

Your Own Story is an emotionally charged and adventurous EP that will be released on July 24th. With this record, we want to invite listeners to take a leap of faith and jump into the unknown with us, because that's where possibilities begin.

2. What is the meaning of the EP name?

For us, Your Own Story is about finding your own path and being proud of the journey that belongs uniquely to you. In a world overflowing with information, misinformation, and endless distractions, it's easy to lose sight of who you are. This EP is a reminder that each person has a purpose, a voice, and a story that no one else can write. Only you can unlock that part of yourself.

3. Who composed Your Own Story?

Every song on the EP was written and composed by the singer Alīse and guitarist Máximo. From the first ideas to the final arrangements, we worked closely together to bring these songs to life.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you choose?

Today, I'd choose Authenticity. It's a song about having the courage to be completely yourself, both in music and in life. The song also reflects the idea that no one will fight harder for your dreams than you will. If something truly matters to you, it's your responsibility to chase it. We also incorporated the Latvian language into the song. Alīse comes from Riga. It felt natural and meaningful because growing up in a place where life can be challenging teaches you resilience. You learn how to keep moving forward, no matter the obstacles.

5. Is there a special message in Your Own Story? If so, what is it?

We hope our music inspires people to discover that spark within themselves, the courage to write their own story instead of letting someone else write it for them. The world needs more authenticity, more dreamers, and more people willing to be themselves now more than ever.

6. Are there any lyrics you'd love to share?

We've talked a lot about the meaning behind Your Own Story, so we'd like to share a part of the song

called the same as the EP Your Own Story.

Through the cracks in the dark

Little stars reappear

Like a song in your chest

Guiding your steps

So you wander on,

With no more fear

Every dream's here

About to become real

So don't think twice

7. Which inspirations have been important for this EP? Musically, personally, or anyone you'd like to thank?

The biggest inspiration has always been the people who listen to our music. Knowing that our songs might connect with someone, help them through a difficult moment, or inspire them in some way is incredibly powerful.

We're also inspired by our shared love for music and by the chaos, beauty, and unpredictability of everyday life. Every experience, challenge, and conversation leaves its mark on the songs we create.
