Interviews: Blüdwyrm
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Sludge Metal/Doom Metal band Blüdwyrm from England. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it, or did it just come out like that?
Seb (Drums) got the name from House of the Dragon, the Game of thrones spin off show. One of the dragons in it is called Caraxes the Blood Wyrm. I thought it was a pretty cool name, so I suggested it to Alex (Guitar) with a slight spelling tweak, and then the rest is history...
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
I (Seb/Drums) was playing in an indie rock band at the time and wanted to do something with more grit and teeth. When Alex (Guitar) and I started, we were intending for a more Kyuss/Stoner-based sound, but that changed with Leo (Bass/Vocals), which was definitely for the best.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Me (Seb) and Alex had been friends for a few years after meeting each other at university, and had been in bands together, although they didn't last long. We started jamming out some song ideas for a few months until we decided we needed to expand. Leo got in contact after we put ads in local music based discord channels, looking for bass players. We both knew pretty quickly that Leo was the man for the job, and that was even before he started doing his vocals, which came a few jams later.

Leo: Velvet Underground & Grief
Alex: Queens of the Stone Age
