Track By Tracks: Dichotomy - Lucifer Owns The Fence (2026)

Breathing The Core Webzine, first off, thank you for inviting me to an interview on my new passion project, "Dichotomy". My other project, "In-Conquered," is very different as it is more atmospheric in the sense of black metal's longer song structures, etc. Dichotomy is all about the Christian truths of God's infallible word (like In-Conquered), but the music will resemble some of the old fan favorites of the OG-Old School Florida Death metal scene we all were influenced by. Now, my favorite of all time when I used to listen to them was Deicide. Hands down, Legion is still to this day the best death metal album on Earth. It's perfect in every way. Steve Asheim is my favorite metal drummer of all time, and the song structures have always influenced my "death metal" style of songwriting. Fast forward to Aeon from Sweden, which is Deicide on steroids with Euro flair. I wanted to very much be able to write in that vein, but give all praise to Christ. Talk about a dichotomy, right? You have a Christian faith-based musician who is heavily influenced by hyper-satanic/anti-Christian bands. To clarify, I don't condone any of their beliefs, but I will always give them a hug and encouragement because Christ loves them as much as He loves me.... That keeps me rooted. Their music was always fabulous, and it helped me to become the musician I am today. Ok, so now we go to the album tracks and a brief description about what each one stands for:

1. He Is...:

This song is about Jesus Christ. It honors him in many aspects. "The son of God, the chosen one, the author and finisher of our faith". Those are examples. It also talks about Lucifer knowing who he is, and even the demons must admit that the blood still works. However, all praise goes to him in this song. I set the record straight, this is a REAL praise album with REAL biblical backing to each song.

2. The Antithesis:

This song is about Lucifer with a real biblical context. It doesn't give him praise, but takes a deep dive into who he is. "You are the ruler of this world, the god of this age, the fallen angel of Hell." The world is this world, not the kingdom of Heaven. There's a big difference. It explains how he's a failure to Heaven, and he is not a part of it, rather the one who is cursed. Once again, it explains his treachery. He is the antithesis of Christ.

3. What a God:

This song, just like "He is" is about praise for Christ. "To be in awe of His majestic splendor, there is nothing under Heaven to match His holiness." It's about how to revere, praise, worship, honor, and glorify the King of all Kings, Jesus Christ.

4. The Fence:

This song is asking the audience which side they are on: Heaven or Hell? It's really quite that simple. Now, it goes into more detail. "We cannot serve two masters, do not love the world or anything in the world, don't straddle the fence."

5. Better To Be Drowned With A Millstone Around The Neck:

This song is very deep and heavy. It's about how evil is harming children now, and there will be great punishment inflicted upon this evil. Side note, originally this album was going to be ALL about this topic, but Jairus and I agreed it was very heavy and a tough one to navigate. I didn't want to crush my personal spirit down that rabbit hole. I decided to do one song about this topic. It also called me to the carpet that every cent I make on selling this CD, I will send to the "Tim Tebow Foundation", which hyper-focuses on fighting evil towards children.

6. The Perseverance:

This song is about how we as Christians must continue to follow and live through Christ, no matter what happens. We need to have great faith and endurance as we move through this life. "Living, believing, breathing, and humility for our Lord's provision"; "Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial." The perseverance, endurance, commitment, invasion, confidence, and confession through and in Jesus Christ (just as said in the lyrics).

7. The Greatest Lie Ever Told:

This song is about the lie that Lucifer told Adam and Eve in the garden. It was the greatest lie ever told. He convinced them that God wasn't enough and that they should be more like Him; everything will be fine if they try to have the lens like God. It was a true, tragic moment that propelled humanity into lies, shame, and sin. This was the human fall.

8. Through Christ We Live:

This song is about how we are no longer spiritually dead because Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. "We have new life through His resurrection. Nothing we could do on our own. It's a gift of God's grace and unrivaled forgiveness." It's an anthem of eternal life through the King of Heaven

9. Satan Will Kill You:

This song is just about that! It's not to be mistaken for anything else. Satan will, in fact, kill you if you allow him the space in your mind and heart. Look, don't get it twisted. Physically, Satan can't do anything to a believer, but he can set up moments of things to hinder our progression. It's his way of lies, deceit, and confusion of our spiritual beliefs. Remember, he is the father of lies, and that still has not changed. He will try to convince Christians that it's ok to still sin and walk perfectly with Jesus. He might even try to convince non-believers that Hell isn't that bad, or that it's a party. Did you know that even demons are scared and hate hell!! That is a place we never want to dwell. This song is brutal and heavy (musically and emotionally). "He is the false, he is sulfur, he is torment, he is murder, he is of hell, he is of death, he is of sin, he is Lucifer."

I hope this answers all questions properly. I'm an open book and am always grateful to answer questions about my stance of faith. The music is done like all my albums. I literally just set a click track and play whatever I want on drums. Once I'm done, I do minor edits as I will NEVER quantize my music. What you hear is what you get. You get Jordan's real drumming like I've done for years. I NEVER want my music to sound like perfection or plastic. This is not the old school roots approach. I then literally hear the drums and start writing guitar riffs on the spot. I have no idea 75% of the time on the guitar riffs. This is how I write my best music. It's fun, spontaneous, and the real me within that moment. From there, I record the bass and then write lyrics. I do vocals for each track without hopping around. It's aggressive and straightforward. This album is legit my best work, and trust me, I'm not near stopping. I have all 8 drum tracks finished for the second album already! The Kingdom of Christ never stops, nor will it.

Thanks again to all of you who support Dichotomy and Rottweiler Records, much love
