Behind The Tracks: Decimator - The Gap (Single) (2026)

Music:

The Gap was the creative idea of Cash Duncan, our lead guitarist.

It's a strange landmark in the city of Sydney, as it's a well-known lookout, from which to view the harbour, but also a notorious place where people go to end their lives. And some, maybe, who've had their lives ended by others!

But he also wondered, with such a history, could there be something in the place itself that maybe makes some people who go there reconsider. There is a local man, who is known as the Angel of The Gap, who has talked many a desperate person out of their plans ... but maybe there's something beyond human?

It was the first song that the current lineup all collaborated on, to an extent, so although the concept and the intro melody and riff were all Cash's, as well as the solo work, the lyrics were more mine (Lance), and the arrangements and structures and melodic ideas were strongly led by Riley.
