Interviews About Albums: AUTUMNBLAZE - Glut (2026)

In this new interview, we sat down with the German Dark Rock/Metal band AUTUMNBLAZE to ask questions about their album, "Glut".

1. What can you say about "Glut"?

Glut is our ninth album and comes out in the year of our 30th band anniversary. It’s a really special album because it’s being released as a double album in two completely different versions. The first CD presents the album powerfully and with the typical deep, atmospheric Autumnblaze vibe, and it was mixed and mastered by Markus Stock. The second CD is the alternative, raw original version, which was mixed at Studio Greywolf by Charles Greywolf. This version is only available on the physical copy of the limited album and does not appear on streaming platforms.

2. What is the meaning of the album name?

The album name "Glut“ is the German word for "ember“

3. Which one is the composer of the album?

As usual, Markus B. is the composer of the album, responsible for the arrangements, the vocals, the guitar, and the bass parts. The drum arrangements are by me, Arisjel. This is a tried-and-true way of working. Usually, we share the lyrics. In this case, however, they come solely from Markus. The album came together very spontaneously, and the lyrics emerged early in the recording process.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

That's a difficult question. Overall, 'Glut' is a very accessible album, with short, concise songs. So I would recommend just giving it a listen and making your own choice. If someone really wants a tip, I recommend 'Polarlichter' and 'Der Idiot'.

5. Is there a special message in "Glut"? If there is what it is?

As for the album's lyrical concept, it's tied to Markus's personal family history. That's why we also picked a very special photo from the family archives as the template for the album cover, which was then turned into a touching oil painting by Friederieke Myschik, our long-time cover artist.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

I want to mention two passages from the lyrics here because they mean a lot to me personally:

...everything else doesn't matter anymore. I miss you so damn much... from Polarlichter and the chorus of the title song:

...hold me tight, the embers are falling apart inside of me - one word, one sword - the wounds tear open - the embers burn deep in the twilight flaming sea - where all the dead live rest...

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

We don't really have any musical role models who inspire our music. But we have to thank Friederieke for the wonderful artwork. We also want to thank all our fans who have supported us for so many years. Thanks also go to Markus Stock and Charles Greywolf for the two excellent mix versions and to our label Argonauta Records.
