Interviews About Albums: Double XP - All A Game (2026)

In this new interview, we sat down with the American Pop Punk band Double XP to ask questions about their album, "All A Game".

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

This album embodies everything we love about pop punk. It’s fun, it’s edgy, a bit sad at times, and makes you feel a huge range of emotions, but it carries an overall feeling of optimism and empowerment that makes you want to go and achieve everything you’ve ever wanted in life.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

Everything in life/society is a game. Getting a new job or a promotion, starting new relationships/maintaining current ones, pleasing family and friends, and for us specifically, navigating something as tricky as the music industry. It’s all a game, and finding a better way to play it will put you ahead.

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

Nick Rossi (main singer & guitarist), as well as Marc Leveroni (singer/guitarist)

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

Probably “1 HP”. It’s a song that has literally everything in it musically and lyrically. It takes you on an unforgettable journey while retaining that overall theme of triumph and overcoming demons, and it really sets the tone for the rest of the record.

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?

Although the album is about the hardships of life in general, it subtly reminds you to have fun, let loose, and not take anything in life too seriously. That’s really what this band is all about. We’re all on this planet for a finite amount of time - might as well enjoy it as much as you can!

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

PLENTY, but some standouts I would say are:

“Some parts of me are meant to be the way they are” - All A Game

“Someday I’m gonna do so much more than fly” - 1 HP

“Trust how life has led us here” - Anakin on Mustafar

“Somebody told me “time heals all” ” - Save & Quit

“Don’t you wait for the world to fall in line” - Sever the Bad Ties

“I’m petrified of change” , “Life is so strange” - Highrise

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

Musically, I have to give shouts to Green Day, Yellowcard, State Champs, The Story So Far, Neck Deep, and blink-182. There are many more who have influenced us as well, but these bands have had the biggest impact on us as musicians and artists.

For me personally (Nick), I’d like to thank my parents for everything they’ve done for me along the way, personally and for this band. They’ve been the best support system any individual could ever hope to have for literally anything. This band would not be possible and definitely wouldn’t exist without them and the mentality they’ve instilled in me as a person. I also have to give a shout to my closest friends who have been here every step of the way and have attended every show since the very beginning. I know the other guys in the band feel the exact same way about their families and friends as well, so I am also speaking on behalf of all of us.

8. Something to add?

We just really hope this album makes you feel something no matter if it’s excitement, happiness, sadness, anger, etc. No matter the emotion, at the end of the day, if we made you feel anything at all, we’ve done our job, and we hope you can find some peace and clarity in your own lives within our songs. Thank you for being here and listening to our band. Just have fun with it - that’s all we ask!
