Interviews: Who They Fear

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band Who They Fear from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it, or did it just come out like that?

Ironically, I got the name from the video game Doom. I was playing it one day, and I just happened to come across the idea of “who they fear.” well that’s me!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

So with Metalcore, it’s personally been my favorite genre since I was about 14, so when I finally got into writing and creating music, it was almost just a natural choice

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Honestly, no, I’ve been through so many member changes, I always find musicians via just being a part of the scene, but typically, I meet my members from other shows or events before they eventually reach out about trying out for the band.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Michael (Memphis May Fire), Connor (Erra), Austin (I See Stars), Nick (A Day To Remember)

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Honestly, going to shows and seeing how fans/communities react to their favorite bands! It makes me want to look into these bands and how they wrote songs that created these reactions

6. Where was your last gig?

We just played Rock On The Hill Music Festival on June 6

7. Where would you like to act?

Tbh I really wanna play in Florida, Texas, and California, but I truly want to one day get on a DWP event, regardless of size or distance!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I would absolutely love to collab with Dark Divine or Secrets

9. Whom not?

Idk if there’s anyone I wouldn’t collab with

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

No, not really, we have all pretty much been doing some type of performing most of our lives! My advice would be to treat it like a paid band practice, just go do what you’ve always done, close your eyes, and just play! By the time you hit song 3, you’ll feel amazing

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Bad omens, Day seeker, Memphis May Fire, and Wage War

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

A random hand drawing of something that they fear, and they don’t care what it is or what the quality is, on the back of a set list! The next day they got it tattooed, so it was awesome, but at first I was def weirded out a little bit

13. What do you think of your fans?

Absolutely love them, they have been going above and beyond for us this past year, and I admire it more than they might believe!

14. What do you think of our site?

Pretty new to it, but it looks like a great location to discover new bands!

15. Something to add?

Yeah, our brand new song Whiteout just dropped with a brand new music video. We put so much into this. If anyone who sees this can please check it out and give us their feedback, it would mean the world. We have so many more songs to release, and this was just the tip of the iceberg!
