Track By Tracks: Aeveris - Imminence (2026)
ACT I
1. The Mask:
The Mask is a song about the feelings we have to hide and the mask of fake
happiness we sometimes have to wear. Sometimes we feel like shit and want
to scream it out, but the people around us or the situation we live in prohibit us
from showing what we are really feeling.
2. Gravity:
Gravity is all about having ambition and drive to move forward towards your
goals, but being held back by responsibilities of life, setbacks, geopolitical
influences, ... No matter how hard you try to take off and leave everything
behind, powers beyond your control keep you down and keep you from
reaching your goals.
3. Theft Of Time:
Theft of time is a song about days, weeks, months, or even years getting
stolen from you by unforeseen events in life. You could lose someone and
grieve for 2 months, you could have a divorce, an accident, ... All these events take
over your life and could, without any question, ‘steal’ precious time of your life
that has to be devoted to it in the form of grieving, caring for someone else,
depression, ...
4. Downfall:
Downfall is, in essence, a simple message, but in reality, a hard thing to
execute. In life, you keep chasing goals, you keep getting knocked down, and
you keep standing up to keep going. But sometimes you need to be smart,
take a break, and reflect on what you’re doing and how you’re doing it.
Otherwise, you might end up burning yourself out.
5. Show Me Your Weakness:
Show me your weakness is a song about trying to help the people around
you and sometimes getting nothing in return. Sometimes they can be buried
so deep in their own sorrow or put up walls to protect themselves from ever
getting hurt. And even though you keep trying to help them, you can’t really
help them unless they start trusting you and start letting down those defences.
ACT II
1. The Ghost Inside:
The Ghost Inside is about dealing with the issues talked about in the first song
‘The Mask’. It’s about finally trying to take off your mask of fake feelings and
showing your true selves to others. But oftentimes, you’ve been hiding behind
that mask for so long that the people around you don’t recognize you anymore
and might even not like you anymore. The person hiding behind the mask is a
reflection of the ghost that has been living inside of you all this time.
2. And Then There Were None:
And Then There Were None is a sequel to the song ‘Gravity’. It’s about when
you finally have been able to fulfil your dreams and escape the earth and its
problems holding you back. Your ambitions have prevailed, and you have
broken through the atmosphere, but once u reach that destination, you notice
that there are a lot of things you used to love that are also left behind. Reaching a
place not everyone can reach is a dream and feat for many, but the
destination might feel a lot lonelier and colder than you might have expected.
3. Quicksand:
Quicksand is the follow-up to ‘Theft of Time’. It’s about losing yourself in regret,
pain of loss, trauma, and other past experiences. It’s easy to lose yourself in
the thought of how much time you have lost to bad experiences, so much so
that u end up forgetting to move forward at all. The moment u stop moving
forward and get stuck in the past, is the moment when that lost time will
become like quicksand and suck u in, until you’re never able to move forward
ever again.
4. Sheep Who Suffer:
The sheep who suffer is the sequel to the song ‘Downfall’. In the song, the downfall was about sometimes stopping and rethinking your direction in life. But
when u stop to think about what has been holding you back, or what has been
going wrong in life, you notice that most of those problems are not your doing.
Its problems are made by people in power to keep people like you in line and
make sure that every time you take a step forward, they try to push you
back two steps.
5. Tendrils Of Regret:
Tendrils of regret is a follow-up to ‘Show me your weakness’. It’s about the
moment you finally get that one person to lower their defences and show their
true feelings or selves. Sometimes that could be a very good thing, but
sometimes you might end up regretting the monster that has been hiding
behind those walls. Like a kraken, they wrap their tendrils around u and suck u
into the void in which they have been thriving all along.
