Interviews: The Missprint
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Was it something you planned, or did it just come about naturally?
A misprint is a term used by record collectors. A misprinted record is often considered more valuable because it’s unique and a one-off. Our name is a misprint itself — “The Missprint”.
2. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
We’ve all known each other for around six years, although we all met at different times and in different places.
3. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Our inspiration always comes from how we feel. We use our music as a form of expression, putting those feelings out there for people to relate to.
4. Where was your last gig?
Our last gig was our biggest to date — a headline show at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut.
5. Where would you like to play?
The Barrowland Ballroom. It’s a venue filled with so much aura and history, and it would be a dream to play there.
6. What bands have inspired you the most?
Individually, we all have our own inspirations, but a lot of them come from the ’90s. Bands like The Stone Roses and Radiohead have been big influences, as well as Kings of Leon.
7. What do you think of your fans?
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who listens to our music and comes out to our shows. We couldn’t do any of this without them.
8. What do you think of our site?
We’re huge fans of Breathing the Core. It gives bands a platform and allows them to speak about themselves and their journey beyond just the music.
