Interviews: Pabellón
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore/Hardcore band Pabellón from Chile. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Was it planned or did it just
happen?
Our rehearsal space had a small hallway just beyond the front door before you reached
the practice room. Over time, everyone started calling that hallway “Pabellón,” and
that’s where our band’s name came from.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
The genre came together naturally. Each member brought their own style and musical
influences, and since our tastes were all different, that combination shaped the band’s
sound.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Rodrigo Lafuente and Rodrigo Parra already knew each other before the band was
formed. We also knew Carlos because he is Daniela’s brother, and Daniela was a
childhood friend of ours.
4. Each band member’s favourite band?
Our favorite bands include Pennywise, Parkway Drive, While She Sleeps, Slaughter, to Prevail, and As Blood Runs Black.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Our songs are inspired by the emotions and personal experiences of whoever is writing
at the time.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our last show was at Cavancha Beach in Iquique, Chile, during the summer.
7. Where would you like to perform?
We’d love to perform in the United States and across Europe.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
We’d love to collaborate with Parkway Drive, Caliban, and Killswitch Engage.
9. Whom would you not like to feature with?
At the moment, there isn’t any artist or band we wouldn’t want to collaborate with.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how
to beat that?
None of us have really struggled with stage fright. Our advice to beginners is to
rehearse as much as possible and make sure you’re completely confident with your
songs before stepping on stage.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
We draw inspiration from many different sources, but our biggest influences are also the
bands we mentioned as our favorites. At the same time, we always try to create our own
identity instead of copying anyone else.
12. What’s the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Probably the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked us for was one of our guitar picks.
13. What do you think of your fans?
Our fans are the reason all of this stays alive. Their support keeps us motivated to keep
creating music and playing live.
14. What do you think of our site?
We think your website is excellent. It’s very complete, and we truly appreciate the
dedication and effort you put into supporting bands like ours. Thank you for giving us
this opportunity.
15. Something to add?
We’d like to thank everyone who has supported us throughout this journey. We hope to
see you at one of our shows soon. Stay tuned to our social media for upcoming music,
shows, and news. See you in the pit!
