Interviews: Transonic Science

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Fuzz Rock band Transonic Science from Germany. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it, or did it just come out like that?

The idea came from our former bassist Gerald, who, like all of us, was a big fan of the band Motorpsycho. They used to call their fans “Supersonic Scientists,” and we turned that into our name.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Sometime in 1995, we saw and heard Kyuss at the Bizarre Festival, and it just completely blew us away.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Peter and Markus knew each other beforehand and had played together in a high school band; they then looked for the other members through newspaper ads to start a stoner rock band.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Too many bands.... sorry ;)

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Boredom and beer 6. Where was your last gig? MTC in Cologne

7. Where would you like to act?

Duna Jam ;)

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Aki Kaurismäki

9. Whom not?

We're not naming names.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

It's normal to be a little nervous— but none of us gets really bad stage fright, thankfully. Just accept it. I guess that's the only way

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Kyuss, Motorpsycho, AC/DC, The Kinks, Zappa, John Lee Hooker, Elvis, Wu-Tang Clan

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

"How big are you now?"

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love them

14. What do you think of our site?

Super-cool site—it's just great that there are portals like this that are rooted in the underground scene.
