Interviews: Look What Happened

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Pop Punk band Look What Happened from England. Check out the interview and follow the band on their INSTAGRAM PROFILE. 

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it, or did it just come out like that?

The idea came from the Less Than Jake track. Ryan, our guitarist, is a big fan of the band, and when he mentioned it, we all felt it was the right fit for us.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We’ve always, in some way or another, loved this genre throughout our lives, and when the opportunity came up to get a band together, we jumped at it. It’s a great way to have fun and play upbeat, positive sounds and melodies while still being able to portray darker themes via lyrics

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Jay, Ryan, and Josh are all college friends, whilst Billy was neighbours to Ryan for years prior, and then we met Jack online after putting an ad out for a drummer

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Billy: Right Now, President, State Champs, Four Years Strong

Josh: blink-182

Jay: The Story So Far, New Found Glory, InMe

Ryan: Neck Deep, Blink, A Day to Remember

Jack: Ratboys

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Billy: Multiple things! It can just be a tune or melody I have stuck in my head I try and replicate on the guitar, or it can be whatever emotion I’m feeling at the time I’m sitting down to write

Jack: I don't; I just play drums

6. Where was your last gig?

It was at a cool little cocktail bar called Sit N’ Sip in Horsham

7. Where would you like to play?

Mainly festivals! Slam Dunk Download, Burn in Down festival in Torquay. Always gotta aim high!

8. Who would you like to support?

Billy: Blink, State Champs

Josh: bilmuri

Jay: Neckdeep, any UK pop punk band

Ryan: New Found Glory

Jack: Turnstile or Billy Talent

9. Who not?

We’d probably jump at the chance to support most people, to be honest! Always love playing!

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Billy: When I first started gigging years ago, I used to get pretty shaky, and when I went from playing drums in bands to guitar, that was also a whole different ball game. I try and utilise that manic energy and put it into the performance and change the narrative in my head - It’s good to be nervous; it means you’re doing something meaningful and important to you

Jay: Lean into the terror. The pride waiting on the other side of raw vulnerability makes every frightening step worth it

Josh: Only really at my very first gig with the band. But after that I realised it was just the best time being on stage doing something I love. I'd say just dive right in and you'll realise it's mostly all in your head.

Ryan: Just be you, play well and enjoy yourself.

Jack: Have a laugh!!!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Not sure we’re quite at weird fan interactions just yet! Maybe the odd person asking us to play Free Bird or Hotel California

13. What do you think of your fans?

We’re finding our feet a bit and slowly gaining a bit of traction, but we love everyone who likes our music and supports us.

Seeing people with our merch is always amazing to see.

14. What do you think of our site?

It's cool! It’s always good to have good sites like this one keeping the underground scene going.
