Interviews: Zeistencroix

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Post-Industrial Rock band Zeistencroix from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name?

We wanted a name that felt unique and open to interpretation. “Zeistencroix” doesn’t point to one specific meaning. It gives people room to find their own.

2. Where is the band based?

We’re based in Miami, Florida.

3. Why did you want to play this genre?

Heavy music has always been the best way for us to express ideas that don’t fit neatly into boxes. We love combining aggression, atmosphere, and melody to create something that connects on an emotional level.

4. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Some of us did, some of us didn’t. Like a lot of bands, it came together through friendships, mutual respect, and a shared vision for the music we wanted to create.

5. What is each band member’s favourite band?

That changes all the time, but names like Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Gojira, Deftones, Meshuggah, Fear Factory and Pantera usually come up in conversation.

6. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Life, human behaviour, and the constant tension between who we are and who we’re expected to be. Inspiration can come from a conversation, a book, a film, or simply paying attention to the world around us.

7. Where was your last gig?

Our last show was in Los Angeles, California. It’s always great playing there and seeing familiar faces in the crowd.

8. Where would you like to play?

Anywhere people are willing to experience the music with an open mind, but festivals like Hellfest, Download, and Wacken are definitely on the bucket list.

9. Who would you like to share stages with?

Gojira, Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Deftones, and Meshuggah would all be incredible.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat it?

Everyone gets nervous. It just means you care. The trick is to stop thinking about yourself and focus on the music. Once the first song starts, everything else tends to disappear.

11. Which bands/artists have inspired you the most?

Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Gojira, Meshuggah, Deftones, Fear Factory, and Pantera have all influenced us in different ways, whether through songwriting, atmosphere, groove, or production.

12. What’s the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

To sign a pair of drumsticks that weren’t even ours. We still did it.

13. What do you think of your fans? How important are they to you?

They’re everything. Without people connecting with these songs, they’d just stay in the rehearsal room. Every person who listens, shares the music, or comes to a show becomes part of the journey.

14. What do you think of our website?

It’s always great to see platforms like Breathing The Core supporting heavy music and giving independent bands a voice. That kind of support helps keep the scene alive.

15. Anything to add? New music, gigs, etc.?

We’ve been working on new material that we’re really excited about and can’t wait to share. Keep an eye on our social media and website for upcoming releases and live dates. Thanks for having us, and thanks to everyone who’s been supporting Zeistencroix.
