Track By Tracks: Miscreance - Reminiscence (2026)
A lost civilization, existing in a "non-era" of human history where mankind developed psychic powers and a much deeper connection with nature, allowing them to become perfect beings and transcend the material rules we have come to live by. “Reminiscence” represents the artifact of all this: a concept album in which every track is a testament to this tribe, from their splendor to their inexorable decline. The song titles are mostly in the language used by the album's protagonists, with their relative translation, but it wasn't possible to translate every single word: the record, in fact, contains missing pieces, phrases still to be deciphered that are waiting to be explained.
1. Noaans: Trait d’union:
Sometimes, to understand something so remote and far in the past, perhaps one must travel diametrically opposite in time to find its origins, and vice versa. This is the case with “Reminiscence,” whose opening track speaks precisely of this paradox: a future we do not yet know travels back in time to create mankind so that, one day, it can be brought to life in return. But who gave life to whom?
2. Honi Xuma: Vision:
A collective hallucination, many eyes put together to form a complete, kaleidoscopic vision of the reality surrounding them. The deep connection and becoming one not only with the nature around them, but also with their companions, was a mandatory step before undertaking the ritual of the hunt.
The title “Honi Xuma” does not derive from their language: the ritual the song speaks of truly existed and was covered in a chapter of a book that served as the primary source of inspiration and origin for this album's concept: From Atlantis to the Sphinx, by Colin Wilson. The book deals precisely with the theory of the existence of the Atlantis civilization, a pre- Egyptian society with supernatural powers that are inconceivable today, providing scientific evidence and connections to tribes that actually existed.
3. Trhjma: Scalp Ceremony:
The euphoria of the "vision" is directly responsible for the atrocities and violence recounted in this track, culminating in the tearing away and keeping of the prey's scalp as a symbol of honor during battle.
4. Vluyneh: Synaptic Cortex Dissection:
Despite being a primitive civilization, their anatomical knowledge was cutting-edge: complex surgical operations were performed solely through the use of their mental faculties, which, reaching unknown horizons, were able to transpose the human body into a complex map to travel through in order to find and eradicate pain.
5. Qrima’tk: Oracle’s rift:
Oracle’s Rift speaks of a crucial day for the civilization of “Reminiscence” one that would go down in history as its definitive doom. A remote place on Earth hosted the Oracle, a being capable of fulfilling the deepest desires of the soul for anyone who managed to reach it. On this fateful day, the Oracle was finally found, but one of those present, driven by the hubris of mankind's invincibility, betrayed his companions and mocked the Oracle, condemning his civilization to the Zenith of a Dying Sun.
6. Vukìniwa: The moaning hill:
The Oracle's curse instilled corruption into the soul of some, driving them into a state of lust they had never experienced until that moment. For the first time, man's mental faculties manipulate the flesh in an attempt to achieve extreme pleasures derived solely from pain. The decline has now begun.
7. KÃ inua: Symbiosis:
The power of man was such that, in some cases, it had even managed to transcend death: certain writings seem to testify to the reincarnation of some individuals, who underwent a true rebirth through a gestation by sacred trees beneath which the body of the deceased had been laid. Unfortunately, however, even this would not be enough for salvation.
8. Imhatae: Zenith of Dying Sun:
The legend of the Oracle's curse is about to come true: a sun we have never seen or known is slowly dying, and on the fateful day it reaches its Zenith, the entire civilization will meet its end. The Oracle alone will remain as the sole witness to the end of all things… but also to what will come after.
9. Mirage:
An almost instrumental track on the album which, through its atmosphere and accompanied by distant voices and echoes from the past, conveys what remains after the decline of the “Reminiscence” civilization: a mirage we can catch a glimpse of from afar, only by straining our eyes.
