Track By Tracks: Petrosa - Roadburn Chronicles (2026)

Antonio “Wesker” Buonocore (Guitar player): The concept behind RC is actually very simple—so simple, and sometimes even so obvious, that for some reason we never seem to put it into practice. Maybe most of us think about it quite often. We wake up in the morning with the intention of doing it, but somehow, by the end of the day, nothing really changes.

What we tried to bring out with RC is, essentially, the concept of *living*. Living without being haunted by the shadows of the past. Living without being obsessed with trying to uncover the mysteries hidden in the fog of the future. In other words, living without regrets, and above all, living in the present.

Every song tells a story. A thought, a reflection, an experience—sometimes good, sometimes bad. And what they all have in common is that they belong to the two main horizons we can see while we're on this journey. On one side, there’s the landscape we've already seen so many times: the past. And at a certain point, there’s no longer any need to keep looking back at it. Then, in parallel, there’s the horizon ahead of us: the future.

So the idea behind the album is basically this: *wouldn't it be better to have some fun while we're enjoying the journey?* Who cares whether good or bad fortune is waiting for us at the end of the road? We can't possibly know. But what we do know for sure is that we're on the road, right?

Maybe we're driving an old van, with a couple of beers, heading somewhere completely unknown—a strange, remote, and possibly bizarre place. That's exactly the idea the album cover is trying to represent.

And then we arrive at the final track, which is called An Old Van and a Couple of Beers. And the fact that it's the last track on RC is absolutely no coincidence.

Because, when you think about it, what really matters is how you get to your destination, not what happens once you've crossed the finish line.
