Behind The Scenes: Crimson Day - The Outsider (Official Video)

The video was filmed in our own rehearsal room, as we wanted to capture a genuine rehearsal atmosphere and give it a more raw and natural feel. Of course, choosing our rehearsal room to be our shooting location made many practical things easier. We wanted to keep it simple. We handled both the filming and the editing ourselves, keeping the whole process DIY and true to our own vision. We weren’t trying to make things too polished or complicated, but rather wanted to capture the energy of playing together and give a little glimpse into our rehearsals.

The idea of adding the old digital camera effect came during the editing, and combining that with the rehearsal room setting felt like a natural way to bring the song’s mood and themes to light. On a deeper level, the video is told from the point of view of The Outsider. We wanted to bring that perspective into the visuals and create something that feels a little like looking in from the outside.

Shooting this video in this location gave us a good excuse to upgrade the decor of our rehearsing space a bit and what was even better, our landlord payed it! So give a big shoutout to Rantajätkät Ry!

Also, when we were filming, it was really hot (we mean too hot for a Finn) and there was really no air conditioning, and it was something around 30 Celsius. So the fans you see on the video are not there just for the show; they kept us alive!
