Behind The Scenes: Red Sky - Shoganai (Official Video)
The Red Sky project has always been fiercely independent, and I’ve always handled almost everything on my own. The story behind this music video is no different: it’s far less glamorous than you might imagine, and much simpler.
My girlfriend and I went to Kabukicho, Tokyo’s red-light district, where you can film without too much trouble. We stood in front of a tall skyscraper, I lip-synced to the song, and my girlfriend filmed the whole thing on my iPhone 13 while sitting on the ground. We got it in one take. Five minutes later, we were done. That’s it.
No expensive equipment, no videographer, no hours of filming. Just an idea.
I hope this inspires all the musicians who think they need a million-dollar budget to present their music with dignity.
