Behind The Tracks: Blood Of The Argonaut - HOLD THE LINE (Single) (2026)

'Hold the Line's mid-tempo pummeling grooves came about as an answer to the faster material on the forthcoming debut album 'The Brutal Truth'. The album contains plenty of 'D-Beat' hardcore thrashers - Hold the Line actually started out twice the speed too, but a concerted effort to bring some slower, grinding heaviness to proceedings saw the song head in a different direction...the serrated riffs underpinned by a pulsating bass line and snapping, bottom-heavy beats...a direct nod to some of Nu metal's heavier, more hardcore moments, taking our cues from bands like Downset and Vision of Disorder.

The vocals are pure, visceral spite and lyrically explore the notion that society needs a collective awakening, in the face of manipulated and coordinated, ever-increasing existential threats. But the message is a positive one - 'Start the emancipation' meant as a call to arms.

It's not all fury and chaos, however - the middle 8 provides light and shade...it's almost funky ambience again, nodding to the nu metal of the late 90s - Incubus and even Limp Bizkit's more musical moments providing influence here.
