Interviews: Myronath

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Black  Metal band, Myronath from Sweden. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The band name Myronath is actually two words in Elvish which mean basically The Hidden/Dark Temple. The name itself has meaning for us as we view our music/lyrics as a veneration to the (un)divine hence Myronath is the temple where this glorification occurs as one whole body.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Both me (Hellcommander Vargblod) and Bjarkan have been into the black metal scene for many years, and have been involved in several bands before forming Myronath. When we met and discussed the idea of the band, material started coming out immediately like an unstoppable force. When this happens, you cannot just ignore it. Suddenly Myronath took a serious turn for us, instead of a small project as it was intended originally.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I and Bjarkan had never met before actually. We have a common friend who introduced us and just told us “you guys need to do music together”. As mentioned we took it quite relax at first. We did not know each other, so we did not know what to expect but as we sat down to write music, it all came naturally.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

It is practically impossible to choose a favourite band, too many good ones to just ignore!

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

The main inspiration for my lyrics is undoubtedly the left hand path, with a special dedication to our Mother of the Holy Death. She is ever present in my thoughts and writings in one way or another.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was December Darkness 2019, in Norrköping alongside Marduk, Avslut and others, before the pandemic broke out and spoiled all plans we (and thousands of other bands) had. Hopefully this is over soon and we can start truly promoting our new release Djevelkraft through gigs again!

7. Where would you like to act?

At this point, we just want to play live. For me it really does not matter what venue or festival it is. It is just a matter of being back on stage and releasing all the energy we have through our songs.

8. . Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I guess all artists go through that stage the first and second time being on stage. There is nothing to it. It only gets better by time. Playing live is the ultimate experience in expressing your music and energy to your fans!

9. What bands have inspired you the most?

Again this is a very hard question. Loads of bands have inspired us through the years. Speaking for me, I was always inspired by classics like Slayer and Black Sabbath, then of course titans like Necrophobic, Dark Funeral, Rotting Christ, Marduk… will always be a point of inspiration for me.

10. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I think this goes way back to 2005 in Nuremberg when I toured with a band I had a the time. And a fan came backstage and asked me to do corpse paint on her!

11. What do you think of your fans?

I must say we have very loyal fans who supported us from the very beginning! You know who you are! And we are eternally grateful for your support guys/gals. Those people give us the right motivation and energy to keep going. A big shout out as well to the fans in Mörkrets Kraft FB group mostly who constantly give us a hell of promotion!

12. What do you think of our site?

I think your site alongside others of a similar path are really great as they give the chance to small bands like us to expose themselves to the world! Deepest appreciation from our side!!

13. Something to add?

I would like to thank you again for this opportunity and to all who want to obtain our latest release Djevelkraft as well as all the new merch we have and previous stuff can get their asses on to https://hellstain.com/collections/myronath
