Henriette B - Interview

Hey, Breathing The Core fans, here we bring you another interview of the Metalcore/Hardcore band Henriette B from Switzerland, so here you can see and give a like their FACEBOOK PAGE. We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?  

It came to us when Greg (drums) and Vincent (guitar) watched the horror movie "Manhunt" and saw the name "Henriette Bruusgaard" (the actress who played Camilla). They immediatly thought: "What a wonderful name for a band!". We kept it but shortened the name in Henriette B.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?  

For us, metalcore is the best mix between powerful and melodic music. This genre has a lot of energy and it allows us to share this energy with the crowd when we're playing on stage.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?  

Yes, every band member plays or played in other bands, so we already knew each other because of the (small) local metal scene (Switzerland is a small country).

4. Each band member favourite band?  

Ian (vocals) - Whitechapel

Vinche (guitar) - August Burns Red

Jay (guitar) - Slayer

Fab (bass) - Mogwai

Greg (drums) – Bloodlined Calligraphy

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?  

We have a lot of different musical background, but I think the inspiration comes a lot from bands in the actual core scene. We try to be original, but nevertheless there are so many good bands now out there that we assimilate a lot of what we hear.

6. Where was your last gig?  

It was in a musical bar in Tramelan (Switzerland), 10 minutes from our rehearsal place, we played in front of our friends, it was definitely a good evening.

7. Where would you like to act?  

A big metal festival like "Hell Fest" in France, it's allowed to dream! :)

8. Whom would you like to feature with?  

It would be CJ McMahon from Thy Art Is Murder. He’s currently one of the most insane and powerful singer in our style and his job with Thy Art Is Murder is awesome.

9. Whom not?  

Any clear vocal singer, we don't want any clear vocals in Henriette B ha ha! ;) Except Henriette Bruusgaard, it would be fun!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

Of course! We still have a little bit of stage fright before any show, but it's far less than before. The fright always disappears when we play the first song. I think it is good to keep a little bit of stage fright before every show, it keeps you aware of what comes next and keeps you focused on your show.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

August Burns Red and Parkway Drive

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We have never been asked for something weird but the funniest moment ever was some random guys who did the "rain dance" during our breakdowns-parts at our last show in Geneva. Moreover they brought us some beers at the end of the show. Definitely a good memory! :)

13. What do you think of your fans?  

We love you guys! It is so important to us to have people who believe in our music and support us. We would thanks every person who came up to a show or dropped a like or a comment on our Facebook page.
