On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Progressive Metalcore band, RIVER STOLE GODS from Germany. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name; you planned it or come out just like that?

Adam: We were searching for quite a long for a band name and made the decision to choose “River Stole Gods” as it is a name being open for interpretation. Therefore, we leave the meaning of it up to you.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Adam: Everyone of us is home in heavy tunes and it just felt right to go deeper into it. I personally was always into metal-ish bands, even the band before “River Stole Gods” was in the rock/ metal spectrum. I guess, I just enjoy playing techy riffs and challenging my skills with more and more progressive tunes – for me, this works with metal the best.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Adam: No, we all found ourselves by chance, when each one of us was searching for a band on the internet. Raphael and I found us via a Facebook post in 2018 and after actively searching on musician platforms, Lasse came across us and joined us one year later as our singer.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Adam: Definitely Karnivool and Architects. And I am pretty obsessed with Silent Planet since their latest album.

Raphael: Monuments and Loathe is one of my main influences in this genre.

Lasse: Lorna Shore.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Adam: Mostly it is other bands and artists, that broaden your horizon. Also, art, games, or nature itself inspires me e.g. to write songs. 6. Where was your last gig?

Adam: In Cologne and Hürth in October this year.

7. Where would you like to perform?

Adam: We would love to tour the UK and perform at the most known metal and rock festivals, such as Wacken, Rock am Ring, and Rock Im Park, doing Reload Festival, and because I have worked a long time for Vans, the Vans Warped Tour. That would be insane!

8. Whom would you like to perform with?

Adam: I would love to play with Architects and Silent Planet, as they seem so nice in private and are just awesome live bands.

9. Whom not?

Adam: Can’t tell honestly... I guess some rude people, don’t pay attention to or respect other people.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Adam: I think, no one of us is actually frightened, maybe a little nervous beforehand a show, but my key is to enjoy myself doing what I love, make the people in the crowd feel my passion for music, and just carry them away with our performance.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Adam: I think, Monuments is one of the strongest influences lately with their latest album, as it is just a masterpiece of progressive metal!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Adam: Actually, our fans are pretty well-behaved. There are just “wild” things like signing a men’s chest or singing for a fan’s birthday.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Adam: They are the most precious things on earth for us! Thank you so much for your support. Because of you, we can do the thing, we wanna do: music and traveling the world with it!

14. What do you think of our site?

Adam: I think, Monuments is one of the strongest influences lately with their latest album, as it is just a masterpiece of progressive metal!

15. Something to add?

Adam: Please keep your eyes open for us. This Winter, we will come up with the last chapter of our single trilogy “New Eyes” and it will just kick ass!
