Behind The Tracks: GrayWeather - Parasite (Single) (2024)

Parasite was written and recorded in late 2019. The song started with a riff that guitar player Mike Sahm started, going for a very Meshuggah influenced vibe. As we realized this song stood out as something heavier than we usually write, we decided it would great to have a guest feature.

 

Around the end of 2019, bass player Ricky Orozco had a working relationship with Spiritbox. He showed the rest us the band, and we loved the songwriting, and Courtney’s jaw dropping talent. We reached out to her, and she graciously said yes to featuring on the song. This is a song that started quick but we took our time in with production to really refine this to song it is.
