Interviews About Albums: Flock Of Moons - In The Wake Of The Trembling Hand (2025)

In this new interview, we sat down with the American Space Grunge band Flock Of Moon to ask questions about their album, "In The Wake Of The Trembling Hand".

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

It genuinely doesn’t suck. We just love writing, playing, and recording music together. This record is just a product of spending the last 5 years once a week or so in Joe’s attic hanging out and making music, we dig solely because it’s the stuff we like to listen to and play. We wanted the sound of the record to have the same vibe as what we do in the attic. So, with that in mind, we did minimal production and hired an engineer and producer named Clint Covey with the same mindset. We took Clint to Suma Recording Studio in Painesville, Ohio, stuck us in the room with an extra amp to fatten guitars, and went to town. There are minimal overdubs. Those are a couple of guitar solos, vocals, and harmonies. And in the end, we came out with something we were really happy with and proud of.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

Some of the songs follow a little story. Basically, a woman’s father’s life energy is taken from him in order to restore peace to a land normally existing in harmony. His life force is being held in a stone that keeps balance in the entire world. To save her father, the woman takes the stone to try to find a way. When she is holding the stone, her hand is trembling. Everything after that is “In the Wake of the Trembling Hand”. This is referred to mainly in the song “Rivers” and “In the Wake of the Trembling Hand”.

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

All 3 4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick? The title song.

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?

How everything is somehow miraculously, magically, and mysteriously connected. Connection and constant flow are recurring themes throughout.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

Hiding life behind the veil. Crying that my eyes have sailed to places beyond your heart and left creation pale. You left your trust in them. Unhinged choices read aloud for all to hear while the trusting lie there dead.

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

Matt Miller, Andrew’s brother, does all of our art and is really like the 4th member of the band. He brings a lot of the lyrics alive. So, a big thanks and acknowledgment go to him. And of course our wives, families and friends for endlessly supporting us and putting up with our shit.

8. Something to add?

Thanks for listening and for supporting the music. Check us out on Spotify and come say hi to us at a show - we hope to play in a city near you soon.
