Interviews: Thousand Mile Fall
On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band Thousand Mile Fall from the USA. Check out the interview and follow this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Was it planned, or did it just happen organically?
Our original band name was Alions, and we were from Maine to North Carolina, but no one could pronounce it. It was something we made up and worked for us locally. But as we ventured farther, especially around 2023, it made less and less sense. So we made a hard choice and rebranded. The Thousand Mile Fall band name came from trial and error. We essentially agreed that the new name must be something people can say. It sounds heavy and leaves an open-ended question, much like our songs.
2. Why did you choose to play this genre?
We grew up listening to bands like Killswitch Engage, Misery Signals, and It Prevails; stuff like that inspired us to do this.
3. Did you know each other before forming the band?
We knew each other from the Maine scene, and different bands we were a part of at one time or another.
4. What is each band member's favorite band?
Jesse: Peeling Flesh
Alec: Boundaries
Jared: Deftones
John: AFI
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Life itself can be the inspiration, death, anger, pain, or love. We pretty much write how we feel, and it will be a song.
6. Where was your last gig?
Geno's Rock Club Portland
7. Where would you like to perform in the future?
Aura in Portland, ME, The State Theatre in Portland, ME, and the Palladium in MA
8. Which artist or band would you like to collaborate with?
We collaborated with Karl Schubach from Misery Signals on our last record, Disillusion (Under Alions). If I could pick anyone now, today, Howard Jones from Light the Torch
9. Is there anyone you wouldn’t want to collaborate with?
A boogie wit da hoodie
10. Have any of you ever experienced stage fright? Do you have any tips for beginners on overcoming it?
Stage fright I haven't felt in a long time, but it certainly can get in the way of your best performance, just go up there and do what you came to do, Once you get your niche of stage personality, you can Develop it and become unique, embrace yourself as there's only one of you.
11. Which bands have influenced you the most?
Killswitch Engage, Parkway Drive, Misery Signals, Boundaries, Haste the Day, The Last Ten Seconds of Life, We could go on!
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
To sign their brand new Nike sneaker at an outdoor show in someone's yard.
13. What do you think of your fans?
We love them, we only have so much in the tank, we all work jobs, and have full lives. At times when things seem bleak, you all showing up and supporting is all we need at the end of the day.
14. What do you think of our site?
It's Great! Super helpful right now.
15. Is there anything else you’d like to add?
