Track By Tracks: NEFAS - Oblation Ov Obliteration (2025)

“Xenomorphic” explores the complex relationship between losing one’s humanity and the forces that slowly strip it away.

Inspired by the works of Micheal Moorcock, Hidetaka Miyazaki, and other dark fantasy, this song surmises that the only thing separating the human condition from a return to the primordial is a fragile veil of morality. Once that veil is pierced, it reveals a long-buried part of ourselves—something ancient lurking in the dark.

"Spiral Degradation" combines interstellar cosmic horror with Junji Ito’s “Uzumaki” in this sonic rendition of the erasure of our very existence.

Our plight is insignificant to the questionable grand design, and through forces unseen by light-years of space time, the world as we know it is staring down the barrel of desolation.

Earth is struck by a distant quasar blast, and as the plasma emissions strip away the atmosphere, virulent gravitational anomalies begin to form in multiplicity. The last inhabitants of our planet witness in horror as reality itself is consumed by a chaotic, swirling null-scape.

“Mindstream Transference” explores some concepts from Tibetan Buddhism surrounding different states of consciousness and planes of existence. In this context, the pursuit of all is not synonymous with happiness in this cautionary tale of peering into the void. The song provides the listener with the perspective of an astral traveler searching for what appears to be a doorway towards liberation, but is actually a sinister trap.

At the start of the song, the tethers of the self are cut to reach the outer realms of consciousness.

What is left behind may never return.

As the listener closes their eyes with blind ambition, they let go of this world and cross into the astral dimension.

Beyond the pale, the listener is met with voices from beings of ethereal twilight.

The listener, as the astral traveler, calls back to the voices to be shown what awaits those who enter this plane.

The voices abide and open the gates to oblivion.
