Track By Tracks: Doctors Of Space - Fusing Your Synapes (DOS-009) (2025)
This album is another collage of older tracks mixed with new, more electronic
pieces into one 70-minute piece of music. This is the 2nd album I have compiled
like this, as we were quite happy with the last one (Adventures in the Deep
Dark Seas of Sound. This one has a more dark vibe at times, which also
represents the time we live in at the moment, more authoritarian
governments, horrible wa,rs and climate chaos...
Track listing:
Intro, was created mainly using MOOG modular equipment (Mother 3,
Subharmonicon, DFAM, Spectravox) during some experimental recordings I
made. It is quite harsh and in your face, the mix, to get your attention at the
start, and then the arpeggios kick i,n and we are into a new sonic territory.
Fusing your Synapes is a piece we recorded in Aug 2024 and a sort of the
electronic vibe we had developed earlier in the year. The drum machine and
bass keep the groove going while the synths with a very wide spectrum and
placement really space out your head..
Doomstar was one of my fave tracks from 2022, a really heavy doom space
rock journey this one is. It starts off very slow with bass, synth drone, and a
simple drum before Martin kicks in with the monster riff!! I just love his
phased-out and intense guitar and soloing on this one. What a great guitar
player...

Down the Ferret Hole you Go, was another MOOG and modular synth
improvisation, quite in your face electronics to bridge into another rock song.
IT slowly gets faster and faster at the end before dying down and
No More Bombs (Only Bongs!). A funny title, but this also goes back to 2022,
when we played more space and psychedelic rock-oriented material. It starts
off with a drone, bass guitar, and a bit of sax (from the mellotron,) and then the
massive guitar riff kicks in, some drums, and off we go.. Later, Martin lays down
some great solos and the synths spit and swirl and do your head in!!
Pinned Codes was one of the pieces we created in July 2024, when we were
rehearsing for a local festival, but then Martin added some nice acoustic guitar
to the middle where the track floats away into space a bit.
Chicken Shit Burger Boy, this is another older one and the most fast paced
track on the CD as the synth repeats over and over and the bass and drums
get things going and finally Martin kicks in with the killer guitar riff..
Outro, this once again was more fun with the MOOGs and a good way to end
the musical journey. Time to put your headphones on and disappear for more
than an hour on a trip you will not forget!!
