Interviews About Albums: Total Maniac - Love Overdrive (2026)

In this new interview, we sat down with the American Street Metal band Total Maniac to ask questions about their album "Love Overdrive"

1. What can you say about this new album?

It's eight songs to blast on your stereo while you crack beers and snort pills. A mix of traditional heavy metal, punk, and driving 80's hard rock. Choruses to sing along with, and riffs to pump your fist to.

2. What is the meaning of the album name?

It's about when you meet someone, and they're just the hottest thing you've seen in your entire life. It's when you're beyond torqued up, you're ready to fuckin go. It's when that fox you met at the bar gives you the green light, and you haven't drunk too much whiskey or done too much blow.

3. Which one is the composer of the album?

All the songs are written collectively in a dirty basement covered in 80's garage pin-up posters.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

For me, it's Early Grave. Just a straightforward, four on the floor rocker.

5. Is there a special message in this album? If there is what it is?

Get drunk, get laid, do drugs. Satan is cool and is also a woman.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

From "Just Another"

The way she's dancin'
I'm rarin’ to go
Ain't no romancin'
Oh no no no
The spell you're under
Believin' her lies
While I'm the secret
Between her thighs

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

Pammy, Tammy, Barb, Lisa, Jeanette, and Jim Dandy's seminal 1985 album "Ready As Hell."

8. Something to add?

We're excited to put out the album and hit the road this summer. If you catch us live, feel free to buy us some drinks while we're on stage, huge fans of Miller Lites!
