Track By Tracks: Hegeroth - Soaked In Rot (2026)

1. You May Call Me a Witch:

This is one of the tracks where we had the most back-and-forth about the structure. Chors stuck to the original version, while Bene wanted to experiment. In the end, we managed to reach a compromise. I think there was even more back-and-forth over the lyric video. Musically, it’s melodic and quite dense, and we’ve got something that resembles a chorus! ‘Together, sisters! Together - a maelstrom! Hands up and up! It’s Devil’s mill!’

2. The Act of Lust:

Musically, this track is powerful and energetic, with a touch of rock ‘n’ roll. The vocals really bring out that vibe. The lyrics are a brief description of the scene: a squad of the Inquisition carries out a sentence to the enthusiastic applause of the crowd. ‘Burn tonight, burn to hell. Christian rules govern here’

3. Błogosławieni Ślepi:

It rocks hard right from the start, and then comes a possessed riff with a blast beat that hits you like an axe to the forehead.

This was the first song Chors wanted to record in Polish. Bene was skeptical, but as soon as he heard the first lines, all his doubts vanished.

4. The Nails:

There’s something playful about these riffs - with their frequent changes and rock-and-roll vibe. The lyrics are about counting nails - if you don’t know what “triclavianism” is and aren’t afraid to count past 30, you absolutely have to check out this track!

5. Hypocrisy Demands Blood:

One of the first tracks. It hasn't changed much since we first jotted down the ideas until the final version. Although one of the riffs was recorded about 30 times because Bene just couldn't find the right feel for it.

6. Święte Szlachtowanie:

This track has a real thrash-death metal energy and intensity. Short and to the point. The second single.

7. The Degrees:

Musically, it’s incredibly heavy and powerful, with some cool riff patterns. The lyrics are about pilgrimages and praying to rags rubbed against the corpses of (non)saints.

8. The Swing:

The first track on this album and Chors’ first vocals in Hegeroth! We had long discussions about whether the opening riff was necessary or not… Lyrically, we’re heading down to the basement to swing to the beat - come and play with us!

9. Gdybym Istniał:

Chors felt that 31–32 minutes wasn’t enough for an album, so he wrote the lyrics. Bene put together the riffs, and with virtually no changes, they remained in that form all the way to the final version. Something unheard of in Hegeroth!
