Behind The Artworks: Abel Autopsy - Uunder (2026)
The artwork was created by my friend Sam Hayles. He’s worked with such legends as
Pitchshifter, Celldweller, and more. Distressed and occult are obvious themes, but there’s
something more – the sinister figure from another realm resonates with the tracks, which is
almost a presence from the void layered throughout. Faceless, nameless, one can never quite
pin it down, but you know it sees you.
Another correlation is the fact that I’ve had sleep paralysis throughout much of my life, and
transient figures like this convey that otherworldly discomfort that I experience; It’s haunting
and spiritually devastating.
Surprisingly, I got quite a bit of hate in my inbox for the runes/symbols used at the bottom.
When I decide if I care or not, I’ll be sure to let you know.
