Interviews: Thorne

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Post-Hardcore/Alternative Rock band Thorne from England. Check out the interview and follow the band on their INSTAGRAM PROFILE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it, or did it just come out like that?

Peter: We did have a previous band name, which we changed from, we felt THORNE felt more representative of our sound and direction.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Peter: It’s the genre we all connect with and want to play. It comes naturally when we are writing as a group.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Peter: Matt and I were in a band together previously, but Joe and Alfie were fresh additions when we started this project.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Peter: Ocean Grove

Matt: Alexisonfire and While She Sleeps

Joe: The Devil Wears Prada

Alfie: The Talking Heads

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Matt: We create music as we consume it. I feel like our sound is harnessed through our collective interests combined. Especially the songs that were written now feel more representative and cohesive of the band we want to be.

6. Where was your last gig?

Peter: The Lounge Bar in Alton, great crowd, and some amazing bands we played with as well.

7. Where would you like to act?

Peter: Brighton, Manchester, Liverpool. Anywhere that would be kind enough to have us on!

8. Whom would you like to feature with? Whom not?

Peter: While She Sleeps would be a dream! Maybe Don Broco and Ocean Grove?

9. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Peter: Play each show as if it’s your last show!

10. What bands have inspired you the most?

Peter: While She Sleeps, Thornhill, Holding Absence, Unpeople.

11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Matt: They didn’t ask me for anything, but someone profusely offered me chocolate-covered raisins at a show before.

12. What do you think of your fans?

Peter: They’re super supportive and honest, which we love. Their support allows us to do what we do, and we love that and are forever grateful.

13. What do you think of our site?

Alfie: Very cool, love the style.

14. Something to add?

Joe: Thanks for having us!
