Track By Tracks: Poseydon - Time Is A River And The Waters Are Red (2026)
1. Storm:
A song that's inspired by the strong forces of nature. It's a song about a devastating storm that
destroys everything on its path across land and sea. Looking at newschannels the past years makes
you believe that escaping or trying to hide are no options. Like the song says, “Nature's paying back,
with all its force.”
2. Poseidon:
A song about the ancient god of the Greeks. The god of waters and seas, the protector of seafarers. And, the one
who let us use his name.
3. Thief Of Dreams:
This song is actually about different forms and sensations of dreams. From dreams that become reality,
escaping into a sort of dreamworld, and others that steal your dreams. Even reality that you would wish it was a
dream.
4. With tears in my eyes:
In life, we have all sorts of setbacks. Every time we try to get up and move on. But sometimes we don't see the
light, and we keep sitting in our own darkness. Whether it's sickness, pain, mental health............ we crawl away
and try to escape from life into our own little “cocoon”, often with tears in our eyes.
5. Mind Intrusion:
This is a special one. A dear friend of Alain was fighting cancer and had written all that went through
his mind on paper. He gave the papers to Alain and said Poseydon could use them in lyrics if they
wanted to. Unfortunatly in 2022, he lost his fight, and in honor of David de Munck, we decided to re-
record the song.
Sometimes it seems that terrifying thoughts are invading our minds. Like, there is someone else
putting them in our brains. We usually let these thoughts pass, but not everyone is strong enough to
escape them. As a result, even the most virtuous people sometimes do horrific things.
6. Ancestral Rites:
A callback to the hidden and forgotten rituals our forefathers executed in the primal years of humanity
7. Instinctive Dissonance:
A visit into the mind of a self-aware schizophrenic, exploring the duality of doing things one way
when you instinct tells you to do the opposite
8. Time is a river, and the waters are red:
Time is like a river, flowing through nature. Calm and quiet, but sometimes also very turbulent.
Just like everybody's life, the calm and quiet alternates with all kinds of setbacks.
“And the waters are red” is more a reference to the dark side of our lives. If we look at the past
months/years in different parts of the world, with all the bickering and the envy, resulting in wars.
The calm “water of life” is colored red by all the death and destruction around us.
