Behind The Artworks: Komodo - Battle Pass (2026)

Battle Pass is our tongue-in-cheek tribute to our passion for video games. Fueled by the taste of glory we got from Wacken, we knew we had to move faster. Inspired by the Season Passes and DLCs of the videogame industry, we switched our strategy to producing "Komodo Seasons", in which we began releasing high-quality recurring content (music), but without the large scope of committing to full albums. This allowed us unprecedented creative freedom to explore more sounds and give each song a distinct identity and even a music video.

We chose to close this successful period of the band's career by compiling all of this material, along with completely new songs, into a complete, polished record. Unexpectedly, this delivered a unique all-killer no-filler, all single quality album that we're very proud of. The name Battle Pass was obvious to us: It grants you full access to all of our content. It's the most transparent and accurate name we could possibly give it. If you've played games lately, you know! Lyrically, it's an album about internal battles, so the cover depicts this as an epic battle against our mighty Komodo beast in a DOOM-inspired first-person shooter. Fear the Komodo!
