Behind The Tracks: Peel - Natalie Somewhere (Single) (2026)
“Natalie Somewhere” came from thinking about people who slip through the cracks a little. The ones who carry things quietly and try to hide it behind a joke, a smile or self-destruction. I didn’t write it with one specific person in mind. It was more like fragments of people, conversations, memories, and that feeling of wondering where someone ended up after life pulled them away.
At the time, I was interested in how people deal with pressure differently. Some turn angry, some disappear into themselves, some pretend everything’s fine. The song touches on all of that without trying to explain it too neatly. I never wanted it to sound like a lecture or a “message song”. It’s more observational than that.
Musically, we wanted it to feel melodic and immediate, but with something uneasy underneath. That contrast has always been a big part of PEEL. The 12 strings acoustic guitar along with the bass riff in the verse gives it cool alt.rock groove and works as contast to the anthem vibe in the choruses. A song can sound uplifting on the surface while the lyrics are pointing somewhere darker.
The line “Natalie Somewhere” became important because it leaves things unresolved. It’s not about finding answers. It’s about still wondering. I think that’s part of why the song stick with people.
