Interviews: Rocklust

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Hard Rock band Rocklust from Panama. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you find the idea for the band name? Was it planned, or did it just come out naturally?

The name ROCKLUST came quite naturally and immediately reflected the spirit of the band. “Rock” represents our musical roots, while “Lust” expresses the passion, energy, and desire we put into our music and live performances. It perfectly summarizes our attitude toward hard rock.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Hard rock has always been the music that excites us the most. We grew up listening to classic bands from the ‘70s and ‘80s, and we love the energy, authenticity, and emotional impact of this genre. Playing hard rock feels natural to us because it allows us to express ourselves with power and honesty.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Some of us already knew each other through the local music scene and previous projects, especially tribute bands. When the idea of creating an original band came up, everything connected very quickly and naturally.

4. Each band member’s favourite band?

Francesco Bravi (Vocals & Harmonica) – Genesis

Andrea Palmieri (Guitar) – Led Zeppelin

Federico Cicconofri (Bass) – Blue Oyster Cult

Alessandro Damiani (Drums) – Black Sabbath

Of course, we all listen to many different artists and genres, but these are definitely among our biggest influences.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Our songs are inspired by everyday life, personal experiences, emotions, and the desire to follow our passions without compromises. Musically, we are inspired by classic hard rock, blues rock, and heavy metal, but we always try to give our music a personal identity.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our latest show was the release party for Smoking Wheels in Macerata. It was a fantastic night with a great audience and a lot of energy.

7. Where would you like to perform?

We would love to perform at least one time at major rock and metal festivals in Italy and maybe then across Europe, like Wacken Open Air or Hellfest. Anyway, every place could give you the right emotion and energy: the most important thing is to be in connection with the audience.

8. Whom would you like to perform with?

It would be amazing to share the stage with bands like Airbourne, Scorpions, or Black Label Society. They represent the spirit and attitude that inspired us from the beginning.

9. Whom not?

We respect every genre and every artist, so we don’t really have anyone we would refuse to play with. What matters most to us is honesty, passion, and respect for music. Of course, we absolutely don’t like concerts or artists who are used to playing in playback or with abused autotune.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

A little bit of tension before going on stage is completely normal and probably even useful because it keeps you focused. The best advice is simply to play live as much as possible. Experience helps you transform anxiety into energy. And most importantly: enjoy the moment and don’t overthink mistakes.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Bands like AC/DC, Scorpions, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Motƶrhead, Whitesnake, and Airbourne have had a huge influence on us. Their music taught us the importance of riffs, groove, melodies, and a live attitude.

12. What’s the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

So far, nothing too crazy yet… maybe because we are still at the beginning of our journey! But we hope to collect some funny stories in the future.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We are extremely grateful to everyone who supports us. Seeing people connect with our music, sing our songs, or buy our records is something truly special. Our fans give us the motivation to keep writing and performing.

14. What do you think of our site?

We really appreciate websites like yours because they help keep rock and metal music alive by supporting underground and independent bands. Passionate media are essential for the scene, and we’re happy to be part of it.

15. Something to add?

We just want to thank everyone who supports ROCKLUST and invites us to share our music. Our debut album, Smoking Wheels, is available on all major platforms and also on CD and Vinyl on our Bandcamp. Keep supporting live music and never stop believing in rock’n’roll!
