Track By Tracks: Fogos - Of Wyrm And Men (2026)

1. WYRM:

The wyrm is the poisonous snake talking to our minds, trapping our thoughts in screens full of alien thoughts, removing our will, and leading us to fight one another, dividing us, fulfilling the stupid plans of those that want to divide us and devour us, destroying themselves and everything in the process. From the a’capella introduction, this song tries to provoke both thought and despair through deliberate chaos, with oppressive and grim riffs at full speed.

2. CIRCLEFALL:

All want to belong to the circle of elites, and all are enslaved by it. The circle can only be broken from the inside, and at the end, it is just a spiral of traitors, aiming knives at each other. We wanted to reflect these kill'n'slash feelings with a fast and furious song with no pauses and riffs directly aimed at your neck.

3. FOGOS:

A tale of perseverance, surviving our own death and loss, following the path of the lost souls, towards an end on which everything that is material or silly has no meaning anymore, no pride, no richness, just our essence. This song is a tribute to our own process of dissolution and resurrection after our first album, and it intentionally tries to pay tribute to what that album and these years meant to us.

4. BALAR:

To instigate violence, between the family, between your kind, it´s bloodshed calling bloodshed. The rule of the stronger makes you king amongst your fellows, but without morals or virtue, you are just another king to be decapitated, blind and foolish, hated by your own kind. The song evolves from a heavier entry to full rhythmic sections, almost black’n’roll, with atmospheric passages in between. It´s a song in which the crowd becomes completely wild when playing live.

5. FAUN (with Rider G.Omega from Obsidian Kingdom):

A tribute to our pagan roots, our traditions and beliefs, with a grim touch and many references to witches' rituals in which we play around hedonism, devotion, and sacrifice. It was the first song composed with Virus as guitarist, and it has the great collaboration of Riger G.Omega from Obsidian Kingdom in its epic finale. He´s an old friend of the band, and having his voice in this album is a true honor.

6. NÄGA:

Trapped in paranoia and intrusive thoughts, we are becoming psychotic, continuously anxious, and pursued by monsters created by our own fears. This song is as fast as Circlefall, but with more melody and rhythm changes, both guitars and bass play on different figures to achieve epic violence on each riff. It is one of our favourites. The song was inspired by the work of @nayla_arkart in the album cover, with the Näga as the symbol of our dreads and fears turned into flesh.

7. MESSIAH:

Religion, following blindly the words of predicators, but also the voice of politicians that manipulate us, creating false faith in fabricated myths, doesn´t matter whether they are biblical or political, they are just shit being sold to us in exchange for our souls. This song originally featured a melancholic piano, but during recording, we realized that the power of the guitar riffs was more than enough to express the strength of the lyrics. Together with Balar and Nezha, it's one of the most appreciated by fans.

8. NEZHA:

Full of power and pride, stupid leaders play with us like a child murdering its toys; playing with the death of thousands of humans, initiating war, famine, sickness, and provoking disasters as if it were just a game to them, immune to the consequences. This was the first song we composed after the release of our first album, Corpses and Ashes, but it has a very different composition, furious and melodic at the same time. It's so hard to classify that some people compared it to Satyricon and some people to Slayer, but it has been one of the most praised in the reviews.

9. BABEL (with J.F. Fair from Foscor):

Our only concession to melancholy is in the album. A song about how society is built on dreams and then collapses into a nightmare due to our stupidity. The song combines slow guitars over fast drums to create an atmospheric path of decay that leads to the last part sung by the true master J.F Fiar from Foscor, a great figure in the southern European black metal scene, and an old friend of the band. His lyrics in our Catalan language bring an epic end to the album, closing that feeling of despair that started with the chaos of Wyrm, leaving us with nothing else but our own darkness in silence: “Només la foscor ens acompanyarà, un cop malgastat el nostre temps / Only darkness will be at our side, once our time has been wasted“.
