Band Biographies: Broken Amber
Broken Amber is an international alternative rock and post-hardcore band with members based across Germany and the UK. The band consists of vocalist Georgia McRae, guitarist Nico Dohle, drummer Daniel Albanico, bassist Laurence de Vane and songwriter and creative director Fabian Dargatz.
The story of Broken Amber began in 2025 when Fabian wrote and pre-produced around ten songs while developing the band’s musical direction and an initial visual concept. Before a line-up existed, some material was released under the temporary project name Broken Ember as part of the blueprint EP “Loveblind”.
Broken Ember served as a public art and casting project created to make the vision tangible and find the musicians for Broken Amber. During its active four-month phase, the project attracted its first supporters and gave an early indication of which songs connected most strongly with listeners. Most importantly, it led Fabian to the people he had been looking for.
The line-up came together within only a few weeks, although the faces behind the band remained hidden for several months while Broken Amber prepared its debut. During that time, the visual identity was rebuilt around the five members. The original colour palette remained, while almost everything else was newly developed for the band.
Broken Amber combines emotionally charged alternative rock and post-hardcore with heavier metalcore elements, electronic textures and a cinematic atmosphere. Their debut single “Don’t Let Go” was developed collaboratively over several months and mixed and mastered by Julian Breucker, known for his work with Future Palace and Beyond the Black. Released in August 2026, the single marked the band’s official debut and introduced the members of Broken Amber to the public for the first time.
Their second single “Standing Still” will follow in autumn 2026, revealing a more vulnerable and atmospheric side of the band while retaining the contrasts and dynamic shifts that define their sound.
