1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Was it something you had planned, or did it just come out naturally?
The name Sons of Cult came from the idea of being sons of the great bands and of the music that created heavy metal culture.
We are influenced by the classic bands, but we don't want to simply copy them. We are part of that tradition, and we try to keep that spirit alive.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
For me, classic heavy metal has been part of my life since I was very young. I discovered bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Accept and Saxon when I was a teenager, and that music had a huge impact on me.
With Sons of Cult, I wanted to return to those roots and play straightforward, powerful heavy metal with the spirit of the 1980s.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
No, we actually didn't know each other before forming Sons of Cult. The project started in 2020, and it was from that point that we began getting to know each other and working together.
What brought us together from the beginning was our passion for classic heavy metal and our desire to make music with that 1980s spirit.
4. What is each band member's favourite band?
It's difficult to choose just one because we all have many favourites. Personally, I would say Judas Priest and Iron Maiden are two of the most important bands for me.
But within Sons of Cult, everyone has their own influences, ranging from traditional heavy metal to hard rock and other styles.
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Life itself is probably the biggest inspiration. Experiences, people, frustrations, memories and the things happening around us.
Musically, I am very influenced by classic heavy metal bands. When I write a riff, I don't usually try to make it complicated. I look for something powerful, memorable and something that makes you want to turn the volume up.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our last concert was in May 2026, during the Spanish tour we did with Raven. It was a fantastic experience to share the stage with such a legendary heavy metal band.
We played in different cities across Spain during the tour, and it was a great opportunity to present our music to new audiences.
7. Where would you like to play?
There are many places. I would love to play in the UK, Germany and Scandinavia because they have an incredible metal tradition.
But honestly, I would be happy to play anywhere where people genuinely love heavy metal. What matters most is playing in front of a passionate audience.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
To be honest, we are not really into collaborations. If we ever did one, it would have to be with someone who genuinely loves heavy metal and has an authentic connection with our music.
For us, it would make no sense to collaborate with someone simply because they are famous. It would have to happen naturally and have real musical meaning.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?
Yes, some members of the band have suffered from stage fright, especially at the beginning. But at this point, after so many concerts and so many years on stage, we don't have that problem anymore.
The best advice I can give someone starting out is to try to see it as something you are going to enjoy. Don't think about mistakes or about what might go wrong. You are there because you love music and you are going to have a good time.
Enjoy the stage, your bandmates and the audience. Once you learn to see it that way, the nerves gradually disappear.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
For Sons of Cult, the biggest influences are bands such as Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Accept, Saxon, Black Sabbath, Dio, Motörhead and many other classic heavy metal bands from the 1970s and 1980s.
Those bands created the language of heavy metal. We try to speak that language with our own voice.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Honestly, apart from the usual photos and signing CDs, which are not strange at all, nobody has ever asked us for anything particularly weird.
Maybe we are still waiting for that moment!
13. What do you think of your fans?
They are the most important part of everything we do. Without the people who listen to our music, buy our records, come to our concerts and support us, Sons of Cult would not exist.
I have been part of the metal scene for many years, and I have always felt a very special connection between musicians and fans. Metal is much more than music; it is a community.
14. What do you think of our site?
I think websites dedicated to underground and metal music are extremely important. Nowadays there is so much information everywhere that it is great to have places where people can discover new bands, read interviews, and find out what is happening in the scene.
