Track By Tracks: Putrevore - Unending Rotten Cycle (2025)
TRACK BY TRACK COMMENTARY, words by Rogga Johansson:
1.NO MOURNING THE GRACE:
This is a great opener, I think, plows right ahead with furious speed and then opens up in some more epic, mighty parts. The lyrics are very much about the filth that is mankind's reign. How we just take and devour, the way of human greed and gluttonous behavior.
2. MORBID PROCESSION:
More uptempo crushing stuff that then slows down into utter heaviness. Simplistic riffing and neanderthal brutality. Lyrically, this is totally into Lovecraftian themes, about a man waking up and realizing he is in a procession of beings that are heading to somewhere very terrible...
2. SUBTERRANEAN PATHS TO THE TEMPLES:
This one starts off utterly heavy, and then spurs on into midtempo grooving. You can almost say it's a continuation of the previous song, where you find yourself going to a horrid place deep below, not knowing what fate awaits you there.
3. BENEATH THESE GRAVES:
Again, faster stuff that really pounds away, and the drums here drive the crushing riffing onwards. It's a tale about the earth simply spitting back all the dead that have ever been buried in the ground.
4. MORTAL WAYS OF THE FLESH:
Fast crushing brutality, chewing riffs, and beating rhythms here and then it descends into heaviness as the vocals come in. The lyrics are about when your body ceases to live, and everything just deteriorates and dies.
5. UNENDING ROTTING CYCLE:
The album title track here, fast and pounding ahead. It revolves around the fact that humanity is a parasite that just keeps breeding and festering this earth.
6. THEY WORSHIP DISARRAY:
Heavy and epic, this opens up, marching into pure doomy death territory. Lyrically, you could almost say that this is about the rulers of the world in which we live. Those who worship chaos just to be able to crush others and rule.
7. CULT OF THE TENTACLE:
Back to more uptempo riffing and rhythms, old school filth, really, total death metal. The lyrics deal with Lovecraftian themes here. Something from afar, trying to reach our reality.
8. THE CRADLE REPLACED BY THE GRAVE:
A heavy epic opening riff, almost melodic at parts. And then into slow old school death metal lands. This song is about how the earth has finally had enough of humanity and, through natural disasters, simply wipes humanity away.
